- Du hast ein eigenes Microdosing-Journal eingerichtet
- Du unterscheidest zwischen neugiergetriebenen und zielgerichteten Intentionen
Know Your Why
'When you know your why, you'll know your way.'
Let's start at the beginning, with some intention setting. Begin by asking yourself a few questions:
- Why do I want to start microdosing?
- What am I hoping to get out of this experience?
- Many people are simply curious, and that's fine, but if you are the kind of person who wants to see positive change in your life, then getting clear on your intentions is a valuable step not to be overlooked.
- What does the 'end result' look like to you? Are you looking for more lightness and clarity in your daily life? Are you dealing with some difficult emotions from trauma in the past and could benefit from some self-forgiveness or self-acceptance?
- What parts of your life do you want to improve, or could improve if you felt more inspired and energized?
Psychedelics are Catalysts for Change
While it's true that psychedelics are powerful catalysts for change, they don't undergo the process for you. That's the role you need to play. Psychedelics can show you what's out of alignment in your life and what might need to change, but you need to be the one willing to actually make that change happen. As you may already know, thinking about change, or having the awareness that something needs to change, is very different from actually undergoing the process of change.
Starting to get a better sense of what we mean by this? This is the essence of taking an integrated approach to microdosing, and where we think many people might miss the mark. Let's say you've been feeling low moods lately (don't worry, it happens to the best of us) and your intention is to help boost your mood and improve your outlook on life.
Microdosing can help support this window of mental flexibility that allows you to shake out of old patterns, but you know what else can support your moods and your outlook on life? Eating healthier, exercising, getting more daylight, cultivating quality relationships, deepening self-awareness, and any number of other tangible actions that you can take to help you achieve your goals and become the person you want to be.
Set Your Intentions
I recommend writing a paragraph or two about what your intentions are in a microdosing journal dedicated to tracking your microdosing experience. Take the time to do this. I know it sounds simple and easy to skip, but it's these little tiny differences that separate ordinary from extraordinary living. If you feel like sharing your intentions with us and to inspire you to write them down.
By writing your intentions down, you also have something to pay attention to and to track over time, as you may find your needs or intentions naturally shift.
Research Context
"Set" — your mindset and intention — significantly influences outcomes. Participants who set clear intentions before psychedelic sessions report more meaningful and positive experiences.

Exercise
Journal exercise:
Write 2-3 paragraphs answering: What is your primary intention? What does success look like in 30 days? What habits could support your intention alongside microdosing?
